90 minute RPM Charity class for dyspraxia

As part of it’s commitment to the local community, Jenkins Gym has been hosting 90 minute charity rides. The latest ride was to raise awareness of dyspraxia “… is a neurologically based disorder of the process of ideation, motor planning, and execution, which may affect any or all areas of development”

The class is always challenging (its twice as long as a normal class) but we always try to add a fun component to it. This class I had a spare bike on stage with me and invited participants to join me.

Big ups to;

  • Holona
  • Rochelle
  • Derek
  • Tammy

for entering into the spirit of the occasion and joining me up on stage. A shout out to Rochelle, it was only her third class and she did fab-u-lously :-)

Life has been pretty hectic recently and so my updates have been a little less than regular. Suzi & I spent an overnighter with our friends Keith & Adrienne @ their Ammara B&B & Homestay in Te Horo (just south of Otaki). The setup is fantastic & peaceful. I’m not a back to the land kind of guy but definitely enjoyed myself just wandering around checking out the ducks, chooks & alpacas!

What’s happening @ the gym?

Well lots actually, it’s just that I haven’t had time to write about it. The gym are running a couple of promotions that are worthy of mentioning.

Firstly, if you’re a member they have a “refer-a-friend” competition happening. The process is really simple, fill in the entry form @ the gym with your friends contact details and you go into the draw to win $200 worth of fuel vouchers! Just contact the gym 04 939 4449 to get all the terms & conditions.

Secondly, for members, the gym is offering a free RPM class pass. Just check out the latest Jenkins Gym e-news or just give them a call.

Body Attack If RPM & Pump aren’t enough for you, then you might want to check out the Body Attack classes … “Recommended for people with moderate to high fitness levels, BODYATTACK is a 55-minute cardiovascular interval training class, combining high intensity aerobics with strength and stabilisation exercises.”

And maybe even join their 4 week Attack Challenge. Train over the next 4 weeks for the 90 minute blast on Sunday 31st August.

Check out the notice board @ the gym for more details.

Before I forget

Pump Thursday 24th July. I taught 6am RPM and then did the 90 min charity class @ 6pm. Not complaining but maaaan I was shagged and Renee chose a real tough squat track! I’m posting this on Saturday and I feel much better now :-) That aside, I really enjoyed this class because I had access to the music and notes for Pump 48. I just love track 3 & track 5. Hope you did too!

Here’s today’s tracklist. If you like any of these just drop me a line and I’ll see if I can drop it into our next class. A list of all the Pump releases that I have can be found here.

I’m a little late with the play lists for Thursday Pump & Friday RPM. I didn’t realise how much the 90 minute charity class took out of me. I was absolutely knackered for Pump on Thursday and was really glad to be team teaching RPM with Becs on Friday.

Here is Fridays RPM playlist. As Always the list of all the RPM releases that I have can be found here.

90 minutes of RPM for Te Omanga Hospice

RPM Rocks Todays the day! 6pm, Jenkins Gym. The class is fully booked. Donations gladly accepted. Please drop by the gym, pop your head into the RPM studio … we’d appreciate the support :-)

6am RPM is never easy ;-)

But after a great night out last night and meeting three All Blacks I couldn’t wait to get to the gym to show off! I’m team teaching with Rebecca for at least the next 4 weeks to provide a bit of variety and fun for the class. All the girls in the class were soooo envious when I announced that I’d met Dan Carter. So it was a great intro for the class and we just went for it! I took the first 4 tracks and Becs brought us home with the last 5. We switch places on Friday & she’ll do 1 to 4 and I’ll bring it home.

The list of all the RPM releases that I have can be found here.

Lake Chalice wines @ Lagerfield

Lake Chalice I’m suprised at how well I felt this morning after a great night out at Lagerfield in Wellington. If you read yesterdays posting you’d know that my wine maker bro-in-law Chris was in town touching base with the bar owners and restrauntuers (sp?) who stock his wines. We had some great Lake Chalice wines matched to some awesome food. My favourite wine would have to have been the 1994 Riesling, which incidentally was the only the second Riesling the Lake Chalice boys had produced. The food was fantastic, I had the fillet steak and it was melt in the mouth perfect.

The big suprise of the night was the arrival of three All Blacks. Dan Carter, Jimmy Cowan & Ali Williams popped in for a few quiet ones. I’d have to say it must be tough being famous because you’re on show everywhere you go. I was impressed with their low key almost modest demeanour. We said hi and left them to their drinks.

All in all a great night out with superb wines, fabulous food all in the company of great friends … and even got to meet some All Blacks!

It’s funny how much difference a day makes :-)

I had a great class yesterday but today was even better. Maybe it was because we had my bro-in-law Chris Gambitsis with us in class. He’s the owner & wine maker for Lake Chalice wines. We tucked into a few good vinos last night to go with the roast sirloin with potatoes and kumara roasted in duck fat (we had duck risotto the other night … but that’s a different story). I know it’s not prime training food but boy it was yummy! I dragged my mates Vicky & Gary along too.

Marrty & Gambo Here we are TWINS, Italian jeans, belts, shoes & T-shirts. Knocking back a few cold-ones at the Astrolab in Mt Maunganui.
